DEJA CARTER | LCSW. SAC-IT
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Substance Abuse Counselor-in-Training (SAC-IT), Deja takes a strengths-based, solution-focused approach to therapy, tailoring treatment in ways that meet a person’s current needs. She works with adolescents, young adults, and older adults, supporting them through challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance use, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, and more. Whether you are working on building self-esteem, developing interpersonal skills, or navigating life transitions, she draws from evidence-based modalities like DBT, CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and person-centered therapy. Deja believes in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered, supported, and capable of making lasting changes at their own pace.
Deja has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Cardinal Stritch University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She gained experience in this field through her work in the inner city of Milwaukee supporting those with serious and persistent mental illness, substance abuse, and ongoing crises. Deja works with clients age 13 and up.
